Meet Our Staff

What makes Blue Prints a great place for your dog?  Our caring and experienced staff:

Erin, owner of Blue Prints, is a graduate of SUNY ESF in Syracuse. Upon graduation she was an animal keeper at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo for 5 years. Since then, she has worked at Blue Prints, then purchased the business in 2006. Erin has always been fond of all animals and loves the challenges that come with training both large and small animals.

Jackie worked for the airline industry for over 10 years and volunteered at many animals shelters during that same tenure. She is now a full time employee at Blue Prints and serves not only as a groomer, but also assists in our daycare. She owns three dogs of her own and has always had a soft spot for the abused or misfortunate animals.

Jordan has worked with dogs for 7 years, since age 15.  Though he has no dogs of his own, he hopes to get a puppy in the near future.  His parents raised and showed Rottweilers while he was growing up.  His goal is to one day be a manger of a kennel or daycare in the country setting.

Gina is a teacher in the City of Syracuse School district. She is also the trainer at Blue Prints. She loves working in a classroom setting, using her two cocker spaniels, Maica and Kenzie. She successfully trained her one dog, “Maica” to become a family dog, after he developed some behavior problems stemming from his breeding. She enjoys the classroom setting and thinks it is important to keep training fun and inclusive of the entire family.

Melissa specializes in behavior modification and enjoys helping pets and their owners better understand each other.  She has also been involved with training horses and has used socialization as a basis for her positive reinforcement training.
