Do you do pet photography?

Why is socialization important?

Just like people, dogs need to socialize and engage as part of a healthy lifestyle. Socialization enhances their training and improves communication with all dogs they meet. Although often referred to as “doggie daycare,” Blue Prints uses socialization as part of its training programs.

Is there anything I should do before I come to daycare?

We ask that you please walk your dog to allow them to relieve themselves before dropping them off at daycare. If your dog has extra energy, a short walk before can be beneficial. See our other daycare requirements here.

Will daycare affect potty training at home?

Daycare is a social setting in a different context. It will have no effect on potty training at home.

Why is my dog in a crate in daycare?

Crates are used for many reasons, including timeouts for over-stimulated dogs, breaks from play after eating, etc. Sometimes, they like to just sleep in there!

What are your hours?

We are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m and Saturdays for obedience classes. Please visit our contact page to get more detailed times of operation. Also, check out our training classes page for class schedules.

What holidays are you closed?

We are closed for New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

Do you have a room just for small dogs?

We have one room dedicated to small dogs. However, we may place a few larger, more docile dogs in that room as well (such as senior dogs). We also have the option to move dogs from room to room based on temperament.

Do you have nap time during the day?

There is no mandatory nap time, but there is always some napping in the rooms. If a sleepy dog needs some privacy, they can have their own crate in our back area where some soft music is played.

When should I start training my dog?

Training can begin at any age. Foundation classes include Puppy Kindergarten, Basic 1 and 2, and Intermediate.

 What is positive reinforcement training?

Positive reinforcement training is more than just feeding food. It’s understanding your dog’s resource (in priority order) and then shaping their behavior to get it. Good behavior starts with a good foundation of positive training and cues.

Can you train my dog to be a guard dog?

We do not offer this kind of training.

Where can I find good training tips online?

A fantastic resource is the Sirius Dog Training website. The founder, Ian Dunbar, has been the main inspiration for our positive reinforcement philosophy.
